Breewijd 31

Sold: Breewijd 31 steel S-shaped sailboat, stable and seaworthy with fabulous wooden interior

The Breewijd 31 is well-known for her stability thanks to the long keel with large ballast weight. In the past, long sea voyages have been made with Breewijd sailing yachts. The classic lines with low cabin roof are particularly attractive. The construction of the Breewijd is of a high quality; the entire hull is made of oxysteel and various parts, including the hull-deck connection, hatch covers rims, winch supports etc. are made of stainless steel. In 2010 the hull was completely blasted and sprayed with 2 component paint. Foredeck and the wide gangways provide a lot of free space for sail handling and are fitted with anti-slip. The sail quiver includes: furling jib 1 & 2, storm jib, mainsail and gennaker. The Breewijd has a sheltered cockpit with tiller steering and sprayhood. The teak of the cockpit benches and floor was renewed in 2012. The sheets of the furling jib are trimmed from the cockpit with the selftailing Lewmar winches. A traveler sits just in front of the companion way for trimming the mainsail. The two gaslockers in the aft deck are both self-draining and also made of stainless steel.

The interior of the Breewijd is fitted with teak – and mahogany wood and breathes a warm classic ambiance. Many wooden details, such as the corner fence for the Dickenson heater, are unique and custommade for this Breewijd. The benches in the cabin offer ample seating space at the wooden folding table. The galley on the port side is equipped with a 2-burner gas stove and oven, sink with running water and a portable 12V cool box. To starboard is a large navigation table, with radio, compass and VHF. The seat of the navigation corner connects to the aft quarterberth. The Bukh 24hp diesel engine (1996) is easily accessible behind the companion way stairs. On portside between the seating area and the front cabin, there is a heads with an electric Vetus flushing toilet and opposite the heads a large hanging closet. The V-bed in the front cabin is equipped with mattresses and offers 2 comfortable berths, with several cupboards on either side. A parasol, sun canopy, dinghy with Yamaha outboard engine are included with the inventory. This Breewijd from the 1st owner, in excellent condition and available with complete documentation.
