The Bavaria 49-3 is retrofitted with a 12mm teak deck. The cockpit is very spacious with a handy folding cockpit table. All lines are led back to the cockpit and the sheets are operated with electric winches, making it easy to sail the Yacht shorthanded. This is further enhanced by the in-mast furling mainsail. The double fitted navigation equipment and the Raymarine E120 plotters, which are placed at both port and starboard steering positions, make the Bavaria 49 a very comfortable ship to sail. The sail quiver consists of; an Elvstrom in-mast furling mainsail, roller furling Genoa, high aspect jib and gennaker with tube. The sails have been inspected and the mainsail has been washed in 2016. The gennaker is as good as new. The strong ST6001 autopilot keeps the yacht on a steady course in all weather conditions. The 105 hp Volvo Penta and 12 hp heavy-duty bow thruster make the ship maneuverable even in hard winds. The bow thruster runs on two Optima Red Top batteries (2017), which are kept loaded on shore power by the CTEK charger.

The engine was fitted in 2008 (new) and has only 590 running hours. Connected to the engine is an additional Mastervolt 3-stroke 120A generator that charges the service batteries. During sailing, the Superwind wind generator partly takes over that task. The Mastervolt Mass Combi 200A / 4000W charger / inverter with connecting control panels ensures that the power supply of both 12 volts and 220 volts is controlled. Engine and gearbox are controlled by an electronic Volvo Penta EC unit fitted at both steering positions. The triple Raymarine ST 60 Tridata instruments provide all the information you need. The underwater paint was completely removed by a professional boatyard early 2017 and a number of layers of Primocon primer and International antifouling were applied. In 2015 the rudder blade and Jefa needle bearings were renewed. Anchoring with the 1200 watts electric Lowfrans anchor windlass is easy. The Suzumar inflatable boat with 5hp Suzuki outboard engine is hoisted on the davits ready for trips to the mainland. This Bavaria 49 has always been in private ownership is now for sale by her 2nd owner. The ship is very well-equipped and can accommodate a crew for both short sailing trips as well as blue water cruising.

The interior of the Bavaria 49-3 has a 3 cabin layout. The luxurious Connolly leather upholstery in combination with the mahogany wood interior and the extra spotlights determine the great ambiance. The huge forward suit has a French bed, with ensuite head and separate shower. On either side of the bed are comfy seats with ample storage space in various lockers and closets. The stylish seating area in the lounge can easily accommodate 8 people. The U-shaped kitchen is fully equipped with gimballed 2-burner stove and oven, 2 fridges, freezer, double sink and plenty of storage space for supplies. Just aft of the galley is a navigation corner, equipped with modern navigation equipment. The 4Kw radar and AIS receiver assist for safe navigation during the night or when visibility is bad. On either side of the companionway there are heads with (1x electrical) toilet facilities for guests and daily use. The ship is also equipped with a wastewater tank. The two aft cabins offer private and spacious sleeping accommodation for 2 persons each. The lights and other electrical appliances, such as the 2 refrigerators, navigation equipment, flat screen TVs and audio devices, are powered by 4x AGM 260Ah (2015) battery packs. Hot water comes from a 90 liter boiler. This is heated by the engine, 220V shore power or by the Webasto heater. The heater has hot air outlets in all the cabins, as well as the shower.
