Sold: Moerman Yawl classic lined s-bilge sailing yacht, well equipped, rigging by North Sails
General: The steel S-bilge Yawl is a sturdy sailing yacht with seaworthy and stable sailing capabilities, built at Shipyard Moerman in Brielle. Various improvements have been made since 1994 by the current owners. For example, the keel and the rudder were adjusted and a completely new sail plan was subsequently designed by North Sails to improve the sailing characteristics. The North Sails sailquiver is complete with 3DL cruising laminate furling genoa, Soft NorLam mainsail & mizzen, mizzen staysail, storm jib and spinnaker. The sheets are operated with robust self-hauling winches. The mainsail is hoisted and lowered at the mast. In addition to typical classic items such as the radio receiver, Sailor VHF radio, there is also modern navigation equipment with Raymarine compass, anemometers, log, depth sounder and autopilot. The deck is later fitted with flexiteak and the cockpit has teak benches. The Mitsubishi diesel engine was installed by Drinkwaard in 2004. The entire hull and superstructure were recently painted in 2021. The underwater hull has been provided with new antifouling before launching in May 2022. The Groot Frisia is a real eye-catcher and suitable for an enthusiast who wants to go out on the water with a classic sailing yacht.
Interior: The interior has a classic look with solid woodwork. Next to the cabin entrance to starboard is the chart table and aft is a narrow quarter berth. To port is a well-equipped galley, with running water, stove with oven and compressor coolbox. A boiler provides hot water for the galley and cockpit shower. The saloon has comfortable settees with a table that folds out. The roll-up hammocks above the settee can be used as berths during sea crossings. In the front is a v-bed with two berths. In the passage to the forepeak is a spacious closet on starboard side and the Heads on port side, with vacuum pump toilet and sink.
