Sold: Nicholson 35 Classic seaworthy sailing yacht with splendid shape and comfortable interior
General: Classic yacht with beautiful lines and proven seaworthiness. The hull construction is robust and the laminated keel with lead ballast guarantees a high degree of stability. The Volvo Penta 40hp diesel engine with V-drive was newly installed in 2010. Furthermore, various parts have been renewed by the current owner, such as the batteries, pump toilet, cockpit cover, life raft, sails. The deep cockpit with sprayhood provides shelter from the elements. The teak in the cockpit is in good condition. The traveler for mainsheet trim is located directly in front of the helm position with four robust sheet winches on the cockpit coaming. The compass, GPS plotter and autopilot are located at the helm position on the pedestal. The mainsail is hoisted at the mast with Lewmar winches. The genoa with UV strip is reefed from the cockpit. The sail wardrobe is complete with extra storm jib and two spinnakers. A wind vane steering gear is mounted on the transom, suitable for longer voyages at sea.
Interior: The interior has solid teak woodwork with approx. 1.85m headroom. At the starboard side of the companionway is a galley with sink, gimballed gas stove with oven, spacious worktop, compressor toploader coolbox and cupboard space. A boiler provide warm water. At port is a navigation corner with chart table and instruments, such as a radar, VHF and AIS Transponder. This Nicholson has a deep quarter berth behind the chart table, which also serves as a seat for navigating. The saloon has settee benches with a wooden folding table. The settee at port side can also be converted into a double bed. The settee at starboard side can be widened for an extra berth. The V-bed with mattress in the front cabin offers two comfortable berths. The pump toilet (port) and the sink (starboard) are located between the saloon and the front cabin. In the interior are various cupboards with ample storage options.
